Beautiful

There’s a girl who tries to be beautiful

Puts on makeup every day,

How hard she tries she cannot get past

The size of her beautiful legs.

There’s a girl who’s told she’s beautiful

 He tells her every day

Sometimes she believes her love,

Sometimes she turns away.

There’s a girl who was once beautiful

Kept everything in neat array,

But she never did feel good enough

The need of perfect keeping her at bay.

One night it overwhelmed her

The feel of a need she couldn’t perfect,

So she sent herself to perfect heaven

A bloody knife lay on her bed.

Each girl herself is beautiful

 In each and every way

So be sure to tell her how you feel

In case the last you see her is today.

Loving so strongly

So boldly, so deeply

Love without guard

Without judgement

Love more than one

for you will be loved by many

And your life may be long

Love without regrets

So your life will be full

And your love will be strong

But never forget

To love yourself

As you’re telling me your knowledge

Your ideas of what should be

I reach out to grasp the words

But they flutter to different depths.

They fly away, taking colors with them.

Taking away the colors in the words you give me

And I watch helplessly as they float away

For I am so bound to my seat

by only a few measly threads of sanity.

So I can only helplessly try to catch

the words that follow

And hope that these will stay with me

Until tomorrow

Just long enough until tomorrow

My words come

And then they go

Quick as lightning

But I am too slow

So those that I catch

I clutch their light wing

And hold fast

So I do not fall

Under the weight

Of the uncatchable
